Gotta love that Jazz

So lately I've been listening to the famous jazz voices of the 20th century. Voices like Billie Holiday, Astrud Gilberto, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, and Duke Ellington. Just listening to them makes me all warm inside. Especially when I'm busy with my studies, I'll just put some jazz on and I'm all set. There's something about it, I unfortunately live in a little place called Florida which is not close to NYC at all. I could not wish for anything else at this very moment other than to sit in a real coffee house and listen to the best jazz bands in the city. I would soak it all in, and never forget it. So when some teenagers may say their favorite music of today is Lady GaGa or Black Eyed Peas, I would say "Nothing can measure up to the voices of classic jazz" Well now that I have shared my thoughts on the subject, I am now going to make myself some tea, and try to ignore this foggy day in Sarasota, Florida....ugh and a little sigh........tata

The Stab of Disappointment

Preparing for a really nice dinner with some friends is always exciting. I speak from experience when I say that even if you have a tiny little town house, it can still take you 5 hours just to clean the down stairs. So this past friday my family and I were having some friends of ours over for some dinner. But this wasn't just anyone. There was "supposed" to be this one lovely man coming, who I have been infatuated with. It was an instant attraction when I saw him, and I was so excited to see him again. I made everything look homey and lovely for when they came. I had little tea lights twinkling, and some Billie Holiday singing away. I even had made the most delicious coconut cake recipe ever created. I can definitely say that it was made with love. It was still uncertain if he was going to be attending, so I needed to know......: ( it was a no go. He had other prior engagements. I acted so foolishly when I found out. I actually went in my closet and cried, but only for a mere second of course. That was the biggest disappointment I've had in a while. Well I'll put it this way, if he didn't come, then maybe it wasn't meant to be. All was well the rest of the night, but I still felt sad after the night was over. So here is my advice, never miss a dinner with friends, because you may miss out on a scrumptious piece of coconut cake. Till next time

A sweet cup of Tea!

It is truly amazing how much a nice cup of tea can be. I personally love to drink Chai tea with just a dash of cinnamon to put on top. But of course, who can deny the love for the frothy cream colored foam on top of the tea. The best part of it, which I'm sure you would agree, is holding the cup parallel to your chin so that the smell just teases you with it's hints of cream and spices. One could just fall into a world of "Tea Delight" just thinking about it too long. If one should have a nice conversation with a friend, then you ought to have some tea with it. After all, everyone could enjoy some warmth with all of the coldness of the world. If you don't think that the tea is worthy enough to be alone, then you should invite some sweet scones to enjoy the party, for everything is sweeter with a few scones and rasberry jam. I agree that a little sugar here and there is good for the heart, so no need to worry about the calorie of this delectable treat, if you feel really bad about it, then walk while you drink your tea :) So enough of my nonsense about tea, though tis no nonsense, but a mere observation. Ta Ta for now
