Boston, I Love U

Cold windy Wednesday, and my mother, sister and I drove to Boston. In this recession we are living in, it is very discouraging...well what I mean is, Boston is such a cool city, and you are almost bound everytime to purchase things from all of the cool hip shops. My family is one of those families that is struggling with $, but money doesn't make happiness...you just need to find a good alternative ;}.....First on our list was breakfast at this cute little place called Trident Booksellers Cafe. I ordered a very delicious apple and brie omellette, my mother huevos rancheros omellette, and my sister a classic breakfast sandwhich, consisting of very yummy bacon egg and cheese. Next on the hunt was setting foot into our favorite stores, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and of course Free People. Despite our lack of "a lot" of money, my mother caved and bought my sister a little stuffed animal...a black & white fuzzy cat, which is adorable. All in all it was a lovely day, I should like to live there some day...cute little apartment with a family of my own.

All You Need Is Love

Now, we all love the beatles...I'm not quite sure I've ever met someone who doesn't like them...but why do we enjoy their music so much?....It's because their lyrics are fun and meaningful. Everyone loves singing about love and unity, not to mention their lyrics are most definitely clean. Not many songs in my generation about love really capture my attention......but the beatles, they knew it all...even if they didn't "really" know it all, they did. What else is so great about the beatles is that as they grew in their fame their music always stayed true and classic. We loved them from the very beginning to the end. I don't think they will ever die, they will still stay as one of the most infuential bands of the 20th century......love you Beatles

{Maker-of -cookies}

Not just any cookies, but those classic "oh so sweet" chocolate chip cookies. My siblings are always trying to compete with me...and I let them...and when they are finished making their cookies, I sit back and watch as my family takes little bites. I know they fancy my cookies the best, but I don't rub it in....ok maybe I do....a little......but I make mine special...they are never flat...never have too many chocolate morsels...and they always come out perfect and fluffy (emphasis on "perfect") ok maybe I'm being presumptuous...but!....I really feel that out of my family, I am the best......I mean...just look at them....they look beautiful...and it's just the dough!

The Magical Feeling of New Apps

I have stumbled across the most time consuming app on my phone just yesterday. It's called 'Instagram' and it makes photo's look absolutely fabulous...I need to stop spending so much time using it....shhh

Everything it ought to be

Just yesterday I took a little drive to Peterborough NH and all my expectations were virtuous. I think I just might have to move there one day, a quant little town filled with the sweetest artistic people....I loved it.

French Baguette's and Pesto

A couple mornings ago I had the urge to bake some bread, and conveniently a friend of ours had given us a huge bushel of basil. I made some fresh pesto sauce and three loaves of bread....I truly felt like a baker/chef....twas a lovely morning.

James and the Giant Peach

Hot summer day and it felt like one of those Rasberry-Peach-Pickin'-Days....My cousin, lil sis and wonderful mother and I went to a farm and buried our way through Rasberry bushes and Peach trees....It had seemed like everything had been fried by the sun.

London Calling

So I would definitely have to say that starting off my summer with traveling to Vienna, Austria and London, Enlgand was a dream come true. I was there for two weeks with my good friend, and we experienced so many great things. I loved both places, but my favorite would have to be London. I felt like I was home when I was there. Everything was so lovely, the buildings, the people, the food...everything. I wish I never had to leave. I got to see all the major attractions like Big Ben, London Tower, London Eye, Buckingham Palace...and of course the Underground train. I had English tea almost everyday with a warm scone...mmm so delicious. I also loved everyones style in England, very much like how I dress but better. I would go back there in a heart beat, loved it so much, and I definitely suggest that if anyone is thinking about going, then they should stop thinking and go, you won't regret it ;)

Café Felice's

So today I had a very nice day with my very creative friend Cat. We went to every book store in the county, flipping through old poetry and Shakespeare's sonnets. Along the way we went to this amazing little Café called 'Café Felice's. I haven't known this friend for a very long time, but for some reason I felt like I had known her for ages.
There's something about sharing a conversation at a quant little café, it just feels like it's meant to be. Fortunately, there was no more than
three people present while we gabbed about or lives, so that was a nice side dish. While we sat talking we both sipped on our very frothy and delicious
chai lattes. I must say it felt perfect, so if you're ever out and about in downtown Sarasota, Florida and feel like sharing some intimate
moments, then check it out. They have a very wide selection of teas and the most fabulous sandwich's.

Gidget

I don't know what it is, but I really love the movie Gidget. It's just so classic and realistic, a young lady that wants to be with the guys and learn how to surf. Of course this is just an opinion, but there are many a men who feel admiring when they see a "girl" rippin the waves better than they can. I've been surfing a few times, and amongst all the stares and looks I just ignore it. Anyone can surf if they want to, you just need to make sure you don't surf alone. You learn very quickly that if you're in the way of "real" surfers, then you will be given a lot of crap for it...ha trust me. Well I say go for it and try it, it's very good exercise, and when you finally make a wave it's the best adrenaline rush out there.

The Urge to Cook

I love to eat great food, but sometimes lacking the motication can pose a problem. I also hate going to the Grocery store, I'd much rather go to a fresh market where I know all the ingredients I buy are fresh and local. I love cook's like Jamie Oliver, all of his recipes are so delcious, fresh, and healthy. If I could hire one person to cook for me for the rest of my life, it would be him. Ok, I will say, that cooking can be relaxing, but I like to be in a good atmosphere, like a really nice kitchen, because your surroundings do affect the experience. I hate the kitchen I have right now, absolutely no personality, basically it's bogue in my book. My dream would be to have one of those older kitchens with great appliances, character, and preferably in place like France...Is that too much to ask? :) Well, I think not, I guess I"ll jsut have to marry a man who has money and can really cook...hmm...let's see if that happens.

Zinka!!!

Ever heard of it? Well if you haven't then you're missing out on fun in the sun. So anyways, "Zinka?" you say, yes it is a cool funky sunblock that comes in very hip colors. I own the fabulous pink zinka, and I must say, it's always fun to see peoples reaction while you're cruisin along the beach. It's not necessarily a bad look, but they're probably wondering why you're walking around with colored sunblock on your face. I have yet to buy all of the colors by Zinka, and when I do, I'll smear all of it on my face and walk proud...or goofy...which ever. Another little bonus from Zinka is that it smells delicious! I know it's not a food, but delicious seems to be a very appropriate word for it. It's like the best smell in the world!!! I'm a big fan of "beachy" smells, and when I say it smells good, I mean it. So if you're looking for a different look this summer, try Zinka...Do it!

Breakfast for Dinner

So the title would seem very appealing, as well as the picture above, but it wasn't the case for me. The pancakes I made tonight not too long ago were awful. There was scrumptious crispy bacon, a yummy asparagus and red pepper omellete, and then my Big-Uncooked-Crappy-PANCAKES!...Needless to say, my attempt at perfect pancakes did not compliment the other side dishes. I even tried to make banana and rasberry pancakes especially for my mom...but...unfortunately...I failed...and miserabley at that. Sometimes I have great pancake days, and tonight was without question one of the worst pancake days. I may have shed a lil tear because then I started to think..."What if I can't even make a cute breakfast when I'm married?!"...Will my husband leave me for an Unsurpassable Beautiful Pancake Maker!!!.....Of course I started to calm down, but my dinner did not settle with my morose stomach. So pancakes may not be my Forte, but I make a magnificent coconut cake with whip cream frosting, and berries sprinkled all over it. So ta ta for now......and daydream about how my pancakes could never satisfy "Anyones" taste.

Sharpie Art

Just sharing some more of my artwork, in fact, I did the one with bear last night (Sharpie w/ paper...needless to say my favorite combination.)

The Delights you find when waking up to Coffee

I love coffee...or rather, I fancy a glass almost every morning when I wake up. It's that almost-awake feeling, but once you see that your mother, boyfriend, or little sister is making you coffee, you instantly wake up with joy...well at least that's what I imagine. So what kind of coffee you say?...just the best New York roast there is, but I cannot have it too strong. I like it just right, so that the combination of sweet cream with a sprinkle of sugar can make a grand coffee bean experience. The mug choice also plays an important role in it as well, if not the most important choice when you go to get coffee. Forget using those earth-killing-stirofoam-cups...choose a cute little mug, with owls and hearts all over it!...or maybe something a little more discreet like a cream colored mug, that looks more like a little cauldron, with the markings of one word written on the inside...Tea...which may be a contradiction, but I do not yet have a mug with the word "Coffee" written on it, but I have yet to find it. So there is my intake on the subject of coffee, and I hope you will consider buying yourself a cute mug after you read this, because after all...coffee in an ugly mug ruins everything!...take my word for it :)

The Ultimate David Gray Experience

So just a few days ago, or rather a week ago, my mother, much younger sister and I had gone to the HardRock Cafe to see David Gray play his last night on tour in the U.S. I must say he was amazing, and definitely more attractive up close and personal. I mean, I love the Irish culture and he just makes it even better. Especially his accent, I would pay just to listen to him talk...ok maybe I wouldn't, but he does have a cute voice, and his singing is not too shabby either. He is truly an amazing musician, and I hope to see him again for his next album. If you haven't seen him, or have heard of him, then I'm adivising you now..."Go listen to David Gray" I promise you will not be dissapointed.

MGMT

So I cannot describe how much I love MGMT. They are such an amazing band, so fun to listen to. Not to mention the music videos are pretty amazing, especially 'Electric Feel'...that video will inspire you to wear hippie-like clothing and daisy headbands :).....The main singer Andrew Vanwyngarden is so adorable and youthful. He makes me want to write my own funky songs. His song Time to Pretend just talks about just being young and experiencing things, not running off to working a job in a cubicle, but to experience new things.....Plus, MGMT's sound is so chill, it's just perfect to listen to at any time (like painting, or eating hummus and pita bread, or on the way to the beach with the windows rolled down) but I just have to emphasize once more that MGMT is an amazing band!!!.....there, now it's out of my system.

Hum de dum

So it is gorgeous weather in the city of Sarasota, Florida and I am just enjoying the day. Believe it or not, but it is 76 degrees out and the air is filled with exotic birds singing and the wind swaying. I actually took a dip in the community pool, which to my "not-so-surprise" was filled with little old women tanning while their husbands read the newspaper, and daydreamed about leaving that gross pool and playing golf with their buddies. I only stayed for a couple minutes, just the thought of everyone swimming in the same pool wasn't so appealing, but none the less, the water was refreshing.

(The greatly taken photo above was taken by Homer Page)

Swing Swing Swing

Swing dancing has been one of those things that I want, no, need to learn. It's so fast and upbeat, plus the outfits the girls wear are absolutely adorable haha. But yes, I would love to learn how to swing dance with a group of my friends, it would be the best experience. If I don't learn how to swing dance any time soon, then it will be on my bucket list, so when I'm like 87 years old, I'll be that crazy little granny wearing oxfords and a poodle skirt. :) Well I'm going to fantasize dancing my feet off while attempting to get some work done, ugh. Tata for now...............(Listen to Runaround Sue by Dion and The Belmonts, favorite song right now...Enjoy!)
